THEO-MUSIC
THEO-MUSIC combines the Theatre of the Oppresses, created by Augusto Boal, with practices of Deep Listening and participatory Music.
This research and experiential experimentation is run by two partners: MUS-E Cyprus and Giolli Cooperativa, Italy.
The THEO-MUSIC partners share a common mission focused on enhancing social inclusion, respect for diversity, intercultural communication, empathic relationships, and creativity within society.
The project aims to strengthen the competences of educators, trainers, and adult learning professionals, while improving access to high-quality, flexible, and recognised learning opportunities for adults, especially those belonging to oppressed and vulnerable communities, such as migrants, refugees, and ethnic minorities.
The innovative synergy of Theatre of the Oppressed, Listening practices and participatory Music fosters:
֍ Identification and imagination
֍ Self-expression and self-awareness
֍ Group communication and trust
֍ Cooperation and social cohesion
The tools and methodologies developed within the project offer practical, real-life examples that enable educators, both within partner organisations and worldwide, to design and conduct their own THEO-MUSIC sessions autonomously.
