Permanent Centre for Research and Experimentation in Theatrical Studies on the Boal and Freire Methods
Giolli has worked since 2008 with 4 methods, Theatre of the Oppressed, Freire’s pedagogy, Community Organising, Nonviolent approach, with several disadvantaged groups like inmates, mirgats, LGBTQIA+ people and related professionals, to fight against discrimination.
Giolli has created a large network of individuals, professionals, associations and institutions working in these fields and topics, with whom they collaborate.
Giolli’s staff has been trained in several workshops run by Augusto Boal, the founder of Theatre of the Oppressed and some of his main students, such as Adrian Jackson, Krystin Byreus, Julian Boal, etc..
Over the years, Giolli has reinforced the knowledge of all the techniques related to TDO and explored new possibilities by working with several target groups, including migrants, also through EU projects like Migreat!, The TIP, CENV. In particular, Giolli has a strong collaboration in Parma with CIAC, a welcome refugees organisation mainly by co-organising multiplier events on the TO.
Giolli works regularly with social workers, psychologists, educators, teachers, health system staff, teachers in formal and informal milieu; youth at risk and marginalised; students of all ages from kinder-garden to University;
It offers a 2-year-long course called “Basic training in Theatre of the Oppressed as Conscientisation” aiming at training adult educators in the use of TO method in a variety of contexts.

MUS-E fosters education and wellbeing through the arts, working directly within communities.
It specializes in activities that promote social inclusion, listening skills, creativity, critical thinking, and intercultural understanding.
It employs artists willing to address their creativity, talents and expertise towards societal changes and community’s needs, and nurtures concepts such as artistic citizenship, social responsibility and civic mission.
MUS-E draws on extensive research and practical experience in listening skills, providing seminars and courses dedicated to this area.
Its main activities:
· Training for youth, adults, and educators, especially in disadvantaged contexts and across both formal and non-formal education.
· Research in contemporary education, especially in music psychology and listening.
· Performing arts
· Cooperation across Europe and beyond.
